Gift guide - January Edition

As promised I have put together a gift guide for the month of January.  So if you have birthdays or any other occasions that you may need a gift for......hopefully this will help.  Of course, these will always be here and accessible to you, so you can refer to them all year long.  You'll just need to click on the "gifts" label on the right side of the blog page and you will find them there. And you know I encourage you to start your holiday shopping early so maybe it triggers an idea that you can use later in the year. Or maybe you will find something for yourself....and there is no judgment here if that is the case.

But for now, here are a few suggestions for January

I will always try to include links with free shipping, if possible.  Also, I will try to suggest where you might buy it locally if you prefer to shop in person.

Beauty - It is the month of committing to taking our vitamins, right? So here are some highly rated beauty supplements
Red Carpet Vitamins
should make a fun gift for the beauty lover on your list.

If you need a gift for the home.....maybe a housewarming or wedding, might I suggest one of my favorite candles

ANTHROPOLOGIE Capri Blue Iridescent Jar Candle, Main, color, LOLA BLOSSOM
Capri Blue

You can find this locally at an Anthropologie Store or at Sweet Pineapple on Airport Road.

If you need a manly gift this month
Blunt Classic Umbrella
Yes, it is pricey, but it truly is the best umbrella we have ever owned.

Now if you need a kid gift

For the younger kid (or the big kid who doesn't like the dark)
Toilet Night Light, Gold Armour 16-Color Motion Sensor Led Toilet Night Light, 5-Stage Dimmer, Light Detection, Great for Potty Training Led Toilet Light (1 Pack)
Toilet Nite Light
It is motion and light sensitive so perfect for the middle of the night trips.

For the older kid consider
Extended Phone Charging Cord
These come in either a 6 ft. or 10 ft. option and in three colors: gray, rose and white.  Who wants to be able to sit in bed and still charge their phone - Everyone!!!!

And if you have a girlfriend that you need a gift for consider
Livho 2 Pack Blue Light Blocking Glasses, Computer Reading/Gaming/TV/Phones Glasses for Women Men,Anti Eyestrain & UV Glare (Leopard+Clear)
Blue Light Blocking Glasses

These have no power so they are not reading glasses and they are non-prescription so they work for anyone.  They basically just relieve eye strain for those of us who spend a lot of time in front of screens (computer, phone, tablets or tv).  You can search on Amazon for some options that do have readers in them if your friend needs that incorporated.

Well there you are.... a few gift ideas for this month.  Hopefully, at least one is helpful to you.  If you know of a great product I should share here, be sure to let me know.

See you back on Friday!

2020 Word of the Year - January

I am so excited to talk about the word of the year for our little blog community.  Sometimes it is a struggle and I go back and forth and have so many options.  Then other years I am struggling to come up with one word.  But this year I felt God gave me the perfect word and I was just waiting for January to come around so we could roll it out.  In 2017 we had a real focus in May and did something positive in our 'Every Day in May' challenge.  In 2018 we were intentional and did something special in our 'Great Things in '18 Challenge'.  In 2019 we focused together on Surrendering various aspects of our lives to God with a monthly prayer focus.  I gave you a hint on Friday that our 2020 word started with a W and had 7 letters.  Did you guess what it was?

Well here it is

If you would like a printable of our word as a reminder, just click here.

First let me say, I am not a Bible Scholar.  I am not even close.  I am a girl who loves the Lord and loves sharing with you who also love Him.  So while I don't think anything I will share here will change your life, I do hope it helps us all to collectively focus and keep God in our daily thoughts.

When I was thinking of the word Worship I did some reading and researching about what others have had to say.  I thought it would be good to define it as we got started.  But, my oh my, it is such an encompassing word that I found it difficult to settle on just one definition.  So I combined a few of what I found and here is my thought as we use this as our focus for the year - Worship is always remembering God's worth.  So each month we will focus on how we can challenge ourselves to do just that. We will work on focusing on just how worthy God is in ALL situations.

I hope you will join in.  Over the course of the year I will give us a monthly prompt for us to focus on.  This month I encourage you to reflect and to really pay attention to if/when/how you are worshipping.  And, of course, worship can look so many different ways.....and it really is all about our hearts.

Well, are you in? Will you join us here for a year long focus on Worship?  I sure hope so!

Have a wonderful worshipful week!  I will see you back here on Wednesday!

Looking Forward

Well here we go into another new year.  I hope you are having positive reflections of the past year and looking forward to 2020.  It is a fun, catchy year, right....2020. And its a leap year.....how fun is that.... a year with an extra day......should be great!

You all know how I enjoy a great word for the year and I love the word God has given me for 2020.

I also have been working on a gift guide for each month.  We all have birthdays, anniversaries and 'just because' events all through the year.  So each month I will post a little gift guide that will hopefully help you pick up some fun gifts all year long.

Of course, I will still be reading and sharing the good and bad of the books I read.  I received several for Christmas and can't wait to read and share those with you.

And we will do all the usual retailing, a little organizing and sharing random things that we normally do.

Next week we will kick off the year and get started.  The first post will be about our word for this year.  I will give you a hint.  It starts with a W and has seven letters

W _ _ _ _ _ _

I look forward to us walking through the year and focusing collectively.

Have a wonderful weekend and we will meet back on Monday and kick it all off!
