Are you finding yourself with a little extra time these days.  Well our worship focus for the month of April may just be the thing for you.  It is quite easy.... it is enjoyable to praise God when all is going well but, unfortunately, we often get complacent and don't even praise enough during those times.

Join me, want you, in praising God.

While we are praying for Him to heal our land - Let's Praise Him because He is Able

While we are praying for Him to stop the spread of this virus - Let's Praise Him because He is all Powerful

While we pray for families who are at the end of their ropes - Let's Praise Him for being Omnipresent

While we pray for businesses and ecomomies and personal finances to survive - Let's Praise Him for being a Provider

While we pray for the first line responders, medical workers, and grocery clerks - Let's Praise Him for being a Protector.

Let's fill our mouths with Praise and declare His splendor! Let's Worship with our Praise!!!

A Quarantine Birthday

I gotta tell you  I was only minimally prepared for the April birthdays when we went into quarantine.  I guess I was a little bit in denial like everyone else that it would go on as long as it has....but we are rule followers so we've really tried to follow the rules and stay put.

Well then it was April 2nd and we were supposed to be celebrating a birthday.  So we just went through the "extra" stuff in our house and look at how it turned out.

Yep, we found an "L" balloon that we turned into a 7 and a six balloon we turned into a 9.

We were celebrating this yound lady's 79th birthday

We also had a random assortment of balloons that the girls blew up in various sizes and used a pipe cleaner to hold them together in the shape of flowers

Now the gift situation was a little more challenging

We had this cute little note block from Letterfolk

Letterfolk has lots of cute products so we had already snagged this for her.

Then since her friends and all of our family have always called her  "Honey" we couldn't resist these 

This was her gag gift.  They were on Clearance at Nordstrom and we quickly added them to the cart.  Why in the world anyone would mass produce a bedazzled earring that says HONEY, we have no idea.  But it was perfect for us and she thought they were funny.

Now if you see her out in public in these.....I need you to let me know.

Her last gift was a home generated

It's her favorite place and I know as soon as this is over she will enjoy perusing the aisles again.  Of course, by then I will secure her a real one.

We made this cake

It is the Pioneer Woman's Top Secret Chocolate Cake.  It was super easy and very good.  

She was a good sport about our pulled together party.  

Thankful that she is here with us and we were still able to celebrate her big day!

Sour Dough....why not

So many people on social media have started a Sour Dough Starter while at home.  It only takes flour and water so I thought - Why not!

We are following the process detailed by Farmhouse on Boone.  If you want to get one started just click here for the instructions.

Here's all you need to get stated

After mixing a cup of flour with a cup of water, we covered it with a tea towl.....and crossed our fingers the magic would begin

You have to "feed" it every day....all those details are in the link above.

Hoping this works out......not that I needed anything else to feed while we are closed up in this house, but at least it doesn't ask for snacks :)

She also has great recipes.....as soon as our starter matures we are going to give a few of those a try.

Monday Motivation

Ever since this came across my feed I have been listening to it almost every night.  Thought I would share with you in case you haven't seen it yet or just want to enjoy it again.

A group of Nashville singers all recorded parts of this on their personal cell phones and they masterfully put it together.  It is inspiring and beautiful.
