Gifts that Give Back
Now today we look at gifts for the cooks on your list.....seasoned or just starting out? No worries. We have a little something for everyone. Who knows maybe even something you would like to add to your list for yourself.
First up a few favorite cookbooks that would make great gifts:
The Mitford Cookbook has great down home recipes.
Shay gives you easy meals to get dinner on the table every night in her cookbook Eats.
Marlene takes favorites and makes them healthier.
I probably use Calling All Cooks Two more than any other cookbook. These are a bunch of compiled home cook recipes. You can just about find anything and everything in here.
Now here are few tools the cooks on your list might like.
The Pampered Chef Chopper
An avocado keeper.
Everyone needs a good thermometer.
And a nice zester.
I have talked about a local store The Cupboard before on here. I highly recommend a little trip to them for great kitchen gift ideas. They have great pottery, cookware and gadgets. I bought the cutest scrambler from here. It is a little piece of pottery that you add egg and any veggies you want and it will cook in the microwave for you. They also have great vegetable brushes, plastic wraps and REAL vanilla. Look if you have a baker on your gift list, they would love a nice bottle of real vanilla flavoring. There is just no comparison to baking with the real stuff verses the imitation stuff.
Also don't forget some great William Sonoma Dish Towels. Several color options are available.
Other ideas:
Recipe Cards
A cute kitchen timer
The best vegetable peeler
And this apron or maybe this one or even this one.
And if there is someone who loves pretty dishes and such. Be a doll and introduce them to MacKenzie-Childs. There so many wonderful things to choose from. Here's a quick sample

I was the fortunate recipient of the above and I have to tell you.....sometimes I bake a cake simply to use the carrier. It is truly lovely. Since then I have been gifted with several other MacKenzie-Childs pieces and if I don't stop here I will have copied and pasted every single picture from their website. Be prepared, however, for the prices. They are not for the faint of heart. But I consider these heirloom pieces that will be passed thru generations.
Have a wonderful weekend. I hope you are getting Monday off and making it a long one. Relax, enjoy and maybe send a little love and help toward our Texas friends.
Take Care!
